EMP Museum ‘Star Trek’ 50th Anniversary Exhibition
EMP Museum is going to be launching a new exhibit, Star Trek: Exploring New Worlds, on May 21st to celebrate.
Here is a just a sample of what you can expect to see at the exhibit.
I’ve been a Star Trek fan since I was thirteen when I inherited a bunch of recorded The Next Generation episodes on VHS from my dad. I haven’t yet introduced my two-year-old to Star Trek (right now almost his entire life revolves around Star Wars), but the EMP exhibit is going to be the perfect way to introduce him to another of my geeky fandoms. I can’t wait for the exhibit and to share it with him, and you can be sure to see another article about it when it happens.
This year marks the 50th Anniversary of Star Trek, and the Here is a just a sample of what you can expect to see at the exhibit.
Discover the beloved series all over again in this fully immersive experience, featuring more than 100 artifacts and props from the five Star Trek television series, spin-offs, and films, including set pieces from the original series like Captain Kirk’s command chair and the navigation console (on display for the first time to the public); Kirk, Spock, Uhura, and McCoy original series costumes; and the 11-foot U.S.S. Enterprise filming model from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Many of the props are from private collections and have never before been seen by the public. The exhibit promised to be a fully immersive experience and based on curator Brooks Peck’s previous exhibits (read about the Infinite Worlds Exhibit), I have no doubt it will deliver on its promise.
Enjoy state-of-the-art interactives and video ops, including our transporter simulator, and the KHAAAN! booth, where you can recreate the memorable scene from Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan.
