Star Trek Starships Class Size Comparison

This brilliant video shows how big the different classes of starships from Star Trek were compared to each other.

ICYMI: Nicholas Meyer says the new Star Trek show will go in a different direction.
The Galaxy Class starship that the Enterprise D was a part of was 642 meters long, and the Excelsior class was 467 meters long, but what does that really mean? How much bigger than the Excelsior was the Enterprise D? How much smaller than the Enterprise D was the original Constitution Class Enterprise?
It can be hard to picture just how the different sizes of Star Trek starships line up in your head. This problem is compounded by video games that do things like make the Sovereign Class much bigger than the Galaxy Class. Luckily for us we have this amazing video to clear it all up.
The VideoSpaceFX Youtube channel has made an incredible side by side comparison video that inculdes most of the major Federation vessels.
Check out exactly how big the starships of Starfleet really are for yourself:

It doesn’t stop here though, VideoSpaceFX has also made some incredible size comparison videos featuring the Romulan starships.

I always did love the Romulan Bird of Prey.
Did this video help you understand the sizes of the different classes of starships in Star Trek? If you had to pick a class to command what would it be? Let us know in the comments below or on social media.
