Did you know that "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock" almost went up in flames? And one of the people who helped save the day was Capt. Kirk.

Well, William Shatner, actually.
The fire started on Aug. 25, 1983, and consumed a huge portion of the studio. Shatner actually helped to fight the fire, and even rescued a crewmember, before firefighters arrived.

Sure, Shatner acted quite heroically. But he also had other motivations: They had to finish "Star Trek III" in time for Shatner to return filming on his television series, "T.J. Hooker."
